.A  fabulous large steel and cast iron firegrate  by Thomas Elsley

Pierced engraved serpentine frieze flanked by ball supported and finialed pair of oblisks on a cluster of four columns,the arched cast iron fireback depicting a cavalier on horseback with the initials C R.

Made by the famous Elsley foundry of london, late 19th century.
