Wood has been the most popular material to use on modern and antique fire surrounds as it can be easily crafted into intricate designs, finished in a range of colours and is relatively cheap to buy compared to other materials. Very popular in the Edwardian and Victorian periods wooden antique fireplaces, mainly surrounds, were designed in a range of styles from the ornate flowery styles of Art Nouveau, to the Art & Crafts and Art Deco styles.
We have a huge range of restored and un-restored antique fire surrounds available in a range of materials and expertly finished to their original condition. Our wooden antique fire surrounds can also be stained in a variety of colours and range of finishes by our skilled craftsmen in our special purpose workshop. If there is a wooden antique fire surround you like but the aperture is too large we can supply made to measure slips made from a range of materials such as marble, slate or steel so it can fit any insert.
As we stock so many antique fireplaces and surrounds and our showroom is only so big we can’t possibly have every single one on display. If you want to view a certain fire surround give us a call to check if it is on display in the showroom. If it isn’t on display you can arrange a viewing and we will take it out of storage and set it up.
